The class is primarily intended by persons over the age of 50 years that have limited mobility. Chairs are used to enable students to stay safely on their feet while attempting unfamiliar ways of moving their bodies. The class covers most of the basic standing poses (tree, triangle, warrior I and II, downward facing dog, upward facing dog as well as a simple sun salutation). This is a must for those that have joint stiffness, limited mobility (because of age, infirmity or weight). "Yoga for every body".

You don’t have to be young and a contortionist to do this class.  It is designed for those of us that are slightly out of shape, very out of shape, old, middle-aged or young or perhaps recovering from an illness or injury.

Chair Yoga will ease you into the world of yoga - whatever your age and ability - you will quickly see the benefits for your body and spirit.

Part I - Leads you through some seated warm up stretches and breathing exercises to get your yoga work-out started.

Part II - Moves on to easy but effective standing yoga poses, all of which can be done with the help of a chair.  Designed for leg strength and flexibility.

Part III – A flowing series of easy but effective yoga poses

Part IV - Finishes with restorative pose and a wonderful deep relaxation
